Thanks to those who came out to launch our new issue last Friday. We had a great birthday party.
1. Join Team Shameless: SUBSCRIPTION MANAGER - VOLUNTEER POSITION
Do you love data entry? Do you get your kicks out of organizing addresses and dreaming up ways to increase circulation? Then we want you to join Team Shameless.
Shameless, Canada's independent voice for smart, strong sassy, young women, is hiring a subscription manager.
We are looking for someone who is extremely organized, reliable and can work independently. Experience with spreadsheets and databases is required. We would love you to have knowledge and experience with small magazines, good communication skills and excitement to help a small magazine grow.
Like every job on this start-up magazine, this is an unpaid, volunteer position. It requires about five hours of work a week. Must be able to work at home, be able to access e-mail and attend occasional meetings in downtown Toronto.

Mark your calendars! Program your Palm Pilots! Shameless will launch its Spring issue on Sunday February 20 with a super-fun all-ages party. It's even in the afternoon, so you don't have to worry about missing your bedtime -- we'll get you home safe and sound before dark!
Here are the details so far. Tell your friends, tell your family, tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW. It's a launch party, a fundraiser, and just somewhere cheerful to be on a winter afternoon. And when we say "all-ages," we mean it. Everyone is welcome.

In case you didn't know: Shameless is an independent magazine for smart, strong, sassy teenage girls. Our staff and contributors are all volunteers who want to offer girls a progressive alternative on the newsstand. Fundraisers like this help us pay our printing bills. In 2004, we were named Best New Magazine by NOW and nominated for two Utne Independent Press Awards (Best New Title and Best Design). The second ever SHAMELESS STORYTELLING will take place on Sunday, August 15th, so mark your calendars! Shameless Storytelling is a reading series that features women we love sharing the stories they love. This event will feature a youth open mic, so please bring your poems/short things to read.
